I love the way AKT works. My clothing no longer gets yellow-stained armpits or the creeping crusties of the dreaded deodorant sweat line when I wear black.
As for the scent of my latest purchase SC 03, it’s filtered through my own life experience. It reminds me of my best friend’s home when I was ten, growing up in the hills of Indiana. She lived on a llama farm. We walked everywhere barefoot. Her mother, Gail, let people live in the attic. They were called Woof and Moonbow.
Every summer evening, we’d gather around a fire while everyone danced to the rhythm of three people with waist-long dreadlocks playing drums. The scent reminds me of her mother: earthy, natural, and opinionated. Like Gail, the scent is also opinionated. It feels like it knows exactly who it is: a hippie who loves slacklining festivals, picking lavender and making sachets for their clothes, lighting incense and playing a record, and eating oatmeal with granola and chia seeds for breakfast.
Personally, I think everyone has had a nostalgic moment with this scent at some point in their lives. For me, it was a happy one. SC 03 triggered memories I hadn’t visited in years. But I’ve moved on.
Hay Fever was my marmalade. That was the scent that felt like mine.
And so I move on to my next AKT scent, hoping to find a new connection... something that doesn’t just stir old memories, but creates new ones.
